Attorney Lourdes G. Vela

Attorney Lourdes G. Vela

Lourdes Gabriella Vela brings new energy and a tireless dedication to serving clients at the Law Office of Garcia and Ochoa.

Vela discovered her passion for law through political science courses at the University of Texas-Pan American. Growing up shy, Vela understood what it felt like not to have a voice of her own. But during her time at UTPA, where she graduated with honors with a major in political science and a minor in English, Vela found her voice in the legal service of others. At St. Mary’s University School of Law, she thrived, excelling in her studies and graduating in the top 13 percent of her class.

Now a part of the talented team at the Law Office of Garcia and Ochoa, Vela works hard to put the lives of her clients back together after they have been injured.

Whether they were hurt in a collision with an 18-wheeler, in a boating accident, while on the job at a construction site, in the oilfield, or any other situation, Vela assists both her client and their family in their journey to justice. In a recent case, Vela took on the employer of a man whose life was forever changed when he was injured due to faulty machinery. The company didn’t want to pay for the consequences of a situation that cutting corners had caused, but Vela battled to obtain the compensation the worker deserved. She fought on behalf of a family that was forever changed by this injury and compelled the company to face justice.

Any client who works with Vela can expect a trial-ready lawyer with an experienced team behind her. Every legal expert at the Law Office of Garcia and Ochoa works seamlessly together to ensure the best possible outcomes for their clients. Vela is no different, pushing herself to do right for people in need.
