13) Jeep Wrangler
During eight years of the Jeep Wrangler’s eleven years on the market, the vehicle was given “poor” or “below average” reliability ratings. Auto recalls were commonplace for the Wrangler, and the 2010 Jeep Wrangler was hit with a staggering total of 10 recalls and 569 NHTSA complaints.
12) Mini Cooper Countryman
Since the Mini Cooper Countryman was introduced in 2012, only one model – the 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman – received a “good” reliability rating. Owners of this vehicle have reported a wide range of car issues over the years, including issues with the vehicle’s power equipment, transmission, interior, and electronics.
11) Dodge Journey
For four out of the six years that the Dodge Journey was evaluated by Consumer Reports ranking, it received a “poor” reliability rating. These ratings were due to issues reported with the vehicle’s climate system, suspension, and brakes.
10) Chevrolet Suburban
The Chevrolet Suburban was redesigned by Chevy in 2015. Since then, though, the Suburban has received the worst possible reliability rating every single year, with owners reporting a wide range of car issues including problems with the vehicle’s suspension, electronics, and body integrity.
9) Chevrolet Cruze
In 2011, the debut model of the Cruze saw a total of seven auto recalls. Since then, things haven’t been much better, with the Chevrolet Cruze receiving a “poor” or “below average” reliability rating every single year except for 2015.
8) Volkswagen Golf GTI
For seven of the eight years that the Golf GTI has been on the market, the vehicle received a “poor” or “below average” Consumer Reports ranking. Since 2015, the majority of the reported issues have been with the vehicle’s fuel system and body integrity. Before 2015, though, the majority of reported issued with the Golf GTI concerned the vehicle’s engine and transmission.
7) Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has received more customer complaints than most any other vehicle on the road over the past 13 years, and it has never been given better than an “average” reliability rating since 2011 – a rating that it earned only once, with all other ratings being “poor” or “below average”.
6) Ram 3500
Since 2012, every single model of the Ram 3500 has been given a “poor” reliability rating, with issues regarding the fuel system, suspension, and drive system being most common. In fact, in 2013, the Ram 3500 had a total of 14 auto recalls.
5) Chevrolet Corvette
Few people buy Corvette’s for their reliability, which is good seeing as the Corvette has received a “poor” reliability rating every since 2014. Car issues with the transmission, drivetrain, and engine are among the most commonly reported issues with the Chevrolet Corvette.
4) Fiat 500
If Fiat 500 owners were hoping for a compact car that would be both affordable and reliable, they’ll no doubt be disappointed by the fact that the Fiat 500 has received a “poor” reliability rating every year since 2012. Coming in as the most problematic of problematic cars is the Ford Fiesta. Since 2011, the Ford Fiesta has received a “poor” reliability rating every single year – a worse run than any other vehicle on the US market. Problems with the Fiesta’s transmission were the most commonly reported, but issues with the drivetrain, body integrity, and electronics are commonplace as well.
