Do I need a minimum amount of medical bills to file a personal injury claim?
The other day we had a client call in who had been involved in a serious personal injury accident. They wanted to know if there is a certain amount of medical bills needed to have an adequate claim. The answer depends, but we don’t recommend or want any individual making that judgment on their own. In fact, if you go to the hospital, sometimes people take that report as conclusive. If the hospital says they have no injuries, they take it as that and that is what it is. Most of the times, hospitals are just looking for life-threatening circumstances. They’re not looking to see, for example, if you have any herniated discs or other injuries that need to be closely examined.
What we recommend you do is seek further medical attention to take care of all your needs. We also recommend that you contact an attorney right away that specializes in personal injury cases so they can advocate for you. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
